Anyone who has knocked around WordPress for a while will be very familiar with the current admin interface. It works well enough but I’ve always been a bit annoyed that you can’t navigate to any option from anywhere you happen to be. For example it would be great to be able to go directly to the Widget tab without first having to click on Design, wait for it to load, then click on the Widget sub menu.
Well it looks like things are going to get a major shake up soon when version 2.7 launches, if these screen shots are anything to go by the admin interface is going to be radically altered – and we all hope for the better.
The changes aren’t just confined to the dashboard it looks like the whole admin infrastructure is changing, for a complete list of what’s going on take a look at this blog post over at WordPress.org

I read your articles and get a lot of info that I never know before. It’s hard to find knowledgeable people on this topic, but you sound like you know what you’re talking about!
